my soul sisters kathy and rose treated me to a birthday adventure yesterday.
we crossed the stateline into wisconsin.
and
arrived in spring valley at
crystal cave.
i love crystal cave.
i have been once several years ago with my boys.
i knew they would be envious
especially
lucas...as he shares my cave enthusiasm.
i sent him a postcard this morning promising a visit with him in the future.
~*~
since my eye is changing yet AGAIN...
i decided to hold off on photographing my experience....
and
enJOY it fully in the moment...or the moments.
~*~
although i did manage to capture a couple of photos.
stalactites...form from the carbonic acid mixing with water dripping off the ceiling.
forms calcite....i love calcite!
not sure how i remembered that bit of information.
again...i was all about being in the moment.
~*~
calcite
metaphysically speaking...
calcite is all about JOY.
i am all about JOY.
~*~
back to my new knowlege of stalactites....
if they are still dripping they are still forming.
if they stop dripping, break off or are touched by human hands they stop forming.
it takes 100 years to grow an inch.
needless to say...
i am a HUGE tactile person. it took everything in me to not TOUCH these beauties...or the cave walls. the rock walls were off limits for touching also...as the oils from our hands turn the walls black after being in contact for an extended period of time.
it was torture.
nothing other than torture to not be able to touch.
but....
i might of accidently brushed my hands up against the side of the cave wall a time or two. i couldn't help myself. i had to do it. i broke the rules when the tour guide catie wasn't looking.
sorry catie.....i had to do it.
really what i wanted to do was put my back up against the walls and just feel the energy of the rock...or place both my hands on the walls for a few minutes.
but...i settled for a couple of quick brushes.
i hope the cave understood.
as i mentioned earlier...my eye is changing and i couldn't snap a photo if i wanted to right now. apparently i am to just BE in all moments without my camera.
after the tour the girls spread out a picnic for me.
all natural and organic food.
mmmmmm.....
we gabbed for who knows how long as we were not part of linear time.
then...
we went on a nature hike in the area surrounding the cave.
the moss and fungus were beautiful as it has been wet, hot and humid.
perhaps my eye will return soon.
i certainly hope so.
but as always
patience
patience
patience.
as nothing can be forced for it to be truth.
thank you rose and kathy.
it was a wonderful adventure in the moments.
in beauty,
Pamela
