treasures....

treasures...
these are my girlfriend cathy's treasures.
i was lost in them when i had the pleasure of house~sitting for her the 1st part of june.
~*~
we have the same taste in treasures.
rocks
feathers...
~*~
bark
sticks
shells
berries
moss
~*~
she has a bird's nest.
while i was there i found a
bird's egg.
some little thing
was ready to BE
and left
an
egg
behind.
i added it to her treasures.
she still hasn't found it yet.
it makes me smile.
she hasn't been enJOYing her
treasures
lately
like i have.
she will....
then there will be
a surprise.

lakefront park....

lakefront park in prior lake was my park hopping destination most of last week.  my son lucas and i enjoyed exploring one evening before sunset.   he strapped on his rollerblades (see earlier post ~ lucas) and we set off.

there are so many trails to choose from.  the above photo led to a water fountain and fishing location.  a very serene place to fish and watch frogs swimming around in the weeds and algae.

mmmm....a floating boardwalk.....i wonder what is on the other side?

birch trees...the guardians of the trail and boardwalk entrance.  i looked for some bark that may have fallen off but there was none.  i love the bark of birch trees...i have always wanted to write a story on it.  i remember going on a grade school field trip up to mille lacs lake thinking the same thing.  hmmmmm.....

winding trails and paths are a beautiful thing ~**~*~*~

~*~*~ no lake is complete without ducks ~*~*~

this is where we watched the sun setting over the tree line....while resting on the floating boardwalk.
bless my child's heart for suggesting it.
he is a wonderful assistant....no wait...park hopping partner.

while my eyes are hunting and discovering treasures....lucas' are too.
he pointed this guy out.
we vowed to return....he wanted to investigate the swimming beach next time.

the pumpkin patch ~~*~*~~*~~

Last Saturday I took a little trip to the Pumpkin Patch....I love how they line them all up and you see them when you 1st pull in. I call it Pumpkin Heaven....I am like a kid in a visual candy store. So many pumpkins...so little time. I am a huge tactile person. I just want to touch them ALL and lay in the middle of them. A great big sea of orange~~~*~~~*~~~pumpkins.

Walking thru the field/patch is like being on a treasure hunt......should we go with perfectly round....oval....a defective one....

I love how there is a feel of untamed nature in a pumpkin patch....yet everything is in perfect order.

and...ummmm.....can we talk vines......I LoVe the vines....my eye can never see enough vines~~~~>all tangley and wild~like~~~~>. Even though they appear dead...they definately have a life of their own.

and....the stems....and the indentations...and birthmarks...each pumpkin has its own story. I could sit for hours and look at them all.
