a couple of weeks ago i took a riverboat ride with 2 of my girlfriends.

we boarded in st. paul and went up river to pike island and towards fort snelling and returned back down to harriet island.

i am house~sitting, cat~sitting and garden~sitting at the lovely~bro home this week.

rose has a luscious raspberry patch with berries begging to be enJOYed.

this morning's simple pleasure...picking juicy ripe raspberries for breakfast.

and i did.

after a little more than 2 weeks of slowly detoxing my body of sweets, soda and then some, i decided to treat my~lovely~self  to a little bit of chocolate.

day 10 assignment....memory maker.

i am finishing up my 40th year in life.  the day i turned 40 i felt there were going to be many changes in my life this year....and there very much has been.  a loss of a job/career, a divorce, a loss of material items such as a home and coveted garden, and so many other changes one can't even imagaine including the loss of who i thought i was....keyword  THOUGHT. 

i am learning who I AM...and am returning to mySELF thru the process.  and the amount of personal growth has been an amazing journey...one that will continue on~~~>~>>~~>>

so when i think of a memory maker for this project...HORSES come immediately into my mind.  throughout this 40th year of my life, horses have shown up continuously...thru friends, clients, aquaintenances and adventures...they just show up.

i will remember this year as 

the year of the horse.

so fitting...

as 

horses symbolize

FREEDOM 

GRACE

STRENGTH

ADVENTURE

and

PERSONAL POWER.

and

that has been

my

40th year.

my favorite shape is the circle...be it interweaving, separate or many within such as this bale of hay wrapped in a circle.

i love the hairs on this frond of native grass.  each one starts out a beautiful purple color and ever so subtle changes to white as they are reaching out to be touched.

my soul sisters rose and kathy and i went to the shores of mille lacs lake and did ceremony.

this is a crystal known as a lingam.

her nick name is "She".

today's assignment:  splish~splash...how do you cool off in the summer heat?

i have the good fortune to cool off ~~~>floating~~~~> in my soul sister kathy's backyard pool.  this summer i live a mere 10 minutes from her rather than 35...so i am able to ~~~>float~~~~> more often.

i am participating in an on-line class  Picture Summer  that is thru http://www.shuttersisters.com/ and http://www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com/ .  it is a month long project that began today...July 1  today's assignment was to snap a photo of anything that reminds you of summer.  this was my photo for the day.

to me summer means time to play ~*~ be it in the water or anywhere outdoors that my heart desires....today...it was floating in the pool with my soul sister at the end of the day.
