dr seuss...

i took a little trip to the minneapolis art institute yesterday with my long time friend diane.

her daughter was there for an art course.  diane and i meandered around and we were both fascinated by this fabulous HUGE glass globe/art/light. 

the institute is connected to the minneapolis children's theatre and the current production is  dr seuss.

this was hanging in the lobby.

aztec dancer...

i went to an expo a shaman friend was hosting and putting on last saturday morning in burnsville.

there was aztec dancing in the parking lot.

this dancer was absolutely beautiful in her costume.

i was mesmerized by her...

this gentleman was fascinating.

he spoke of the reasoning for dancing...

of honoring nature in all her forms....and of spirit and ONENESS no matter what your religeous beliefs are.

hmmmm....

that is right up my alley.

i loved his ankle decorations....i believe they are some form of shells with seeds inside that rattle when he dances.

here i am (the far right) with them at my sister kim's wedding a week and a 1/2 ago.

i am the oldest...and i felt it that evening.

my baby sister sara is on the far left...the blonde.  she is so cute i can hardly stand it.

my sister kim...obviously in the wedding dress..was a lovely bride and has more courage than anyone i know....not to mention a definate mind of her own...which i love.  she is the 2nd youngest.

and shelly...in between kim and sara...shelly is shelly ;)  18 months younger than myself.  she has a personality that is contageous.

it gave me and my boys a fabulous opportunity for a vacation.

craziness...

the bugs made me smile and think chaos...perhaps organized chaos for them.

1st day of school for my children.

my oldest is a junior and my baby started high school.

perhaps we will have a bit of organized chaos for the next couple of days until they settle in to a structured schedule again.

traveling gypsee...

i am leaving early tomorrow morning for a little trip....about 2 1/2 weeks.

1st a road trip beating a path thru the badlands in south dakota, to devil's tower in wyoming, then onto my uncle's ranch in the big horn mountains and continuing on to coty, wyoming...where i will hop a plane to come back home to minnesota...not without a layover in salt lake city.

mmmm...earth work...i love earth work.  this 1st leg will be with my soul sister kathy and we will be meeting our other sister cathy and her friend shelli.

once back in minnesota i will join up with my children for a late evening and we will fly out early the following morning to atlanta, georgia for 4 days.  my beautiful sister kim will be marrying on the 27th in a lovely intimate garden setting.  my boys and i plan on road tripping it up to the mountains northeast of atlanta for a day before flying back home. i will be home for just a short period of time before leaving again for western minnesota to house/dog sit for a lovely couple who own a vacation lake home.

a peaceful

quiet

way to spend the last 5 days of summer.

i am positive my camera will be in hand the entire time.

computer also where internet is available.

i will post as able to.

mmmm...a traveling gypsee i will be....and so very excited.
