i love how the melting snow drips...drips...drips and forms the most magical ice castles.

they are beautiful.

they are intricate.

a simple pleasure.

mmm....color

it is amazing what a little color can do for the soul in the dead of winter.

my son and I took a trip to the como conservatory last week.  the stargazer lillies were bright and beautiful.....

the color green warmed my heart....a large fern unfurling caught my eye.

color...brings out the inner goddess in my~lovely~self.

i love rosehips in the wintertime.....a simple reminder of what was....no leaves or lovely scented flowers....simplicity.....bare bones.....only the fruit left.  if you sit long enough you will be able to hear them speak....along with your soul.

remembering summer....

it is the dead of winter....and oh there are so many wonderful~beautiful gifts winter can bring. winter is a time of clarity....to rest, dream and go IN to oneself.

but.....i do miss the colors of summer....i took a little time tonite to browse thru some old photos tonite and i stumbled across this....yummy color.


green...and blue...and pink....and yellow.....and did i mention LUSH green ~*~*~*~
excuse me while i go loose mySelf in the space between the leaves...and lounge on the ones that are arching over. oh look! i can watch the columbine ferris wheel.

my dad...

this is my dad...

he is a child at heart...and enjoys sharing this aspect with all he encounters...

2 years ago he decided he needed a dog....Buddy....

Buddy is his perfect playmate now that his 4 daughters have grown and can play on their own.....

thank goodness he has grandchildren to still play with.....my son lucas....

and my son zach.....

he needs to share his child~like personality with at least one human being...

but for the most part...he can thoroughly entertain himself.

it is where i my~lovely~self learned it from....after all...he is the master of laughing at yourself when it is necessary.

i so love my dad.
