turtles and joy...

every morning i enjoy the sunrising over the pond out my bedroom door....

the colors are breathtaking....and beauty to the heart and eye when i wake up.  i am so fortunate to have slowed life down to appreciate the good rather than to dwell on the noise of what may appear to be "bad" that occurs in daily life.

the canadian geese are still around.  mama goose has been laying on her eggs for a good 2 weeks.

but......

watching the turtles suntan is child~like and puts a smile on my face.

discoveries....

last week i walked thru my former garden and had the most fun discovering what is saying hello....

oh! hello chocolate mint growing in~between the bricks inside the pavillion....

you are always so cute and perfectly placed...

mmmmm....i love how you smell up close...all chocolate~y...and can we talk bricks?  i love the bricks....all old and weathered...and multicolored...and perfectely not perfect....

....and good morning columbine...you are always one of my favorites...i will save that for another time....but.....your red stems look fabulous next to your blue/green leaves...

mmmm.......hostas....

 

hostas + light = warmth, joy, peace, beauty, perfection and all is right in the world....

....hidden treasures....

...and pebbles with a stray seedling....i am especially fond of the pebble with the stripes.

at the ranch...

this is abby....

a client of mine gifted her to me several weeks ago....

i love brushing her and combing her mane....i have 2 teenage boys.....i missed out on the whole hair brushing experience with no daughters.

a couple of days ago i went to the ranch to care for abby.  when i was finished i put her back into the pasture and decided to take photographs of her.

but jake wouldn't allow it....he was insistant HE was the one to be photographed....constantly placing himself in front of my camera....he can be wonderfully pesky sometimes...ok...all the time....and a little nosey.

i love a horse's nose and mouth....

i am thinking jake could use his hair combed....darn hay.....but his ears are glorious.

by the time jake moved aside....abby was gone....i guess she was tired of him showing off.

I have been resting....relaxing....and watching.....the pond and it's inhabitants.

the canadian geese are nesting on a small little "island" in the center.

and the turtles were playing king of the hill...

and the ducks were just checking out the action.
